Burghwallis and Skellow Two Estates Evening walk

Date: Tue, 23 Jul 2019, 10:30 - 18:30

Venue: Owston Park Primary School, Lodge Road, Doncaster, DN6 8PU

This is a short walk through two very old landed estates, passing through ancient woodland, tiny hamlets and farming communities. Around 30 Anglo Saxon ancient monuments, crop marks and relics are lying in the fields throughout Burghwallis parish. More importantly you will be in the midst of the probable site of the last battle fought by King Ædred, grandson of Alfred the Great, who finally fought off the Danes to establish the boundaries of England as a single kingdom and become the first King of all England.

4 Mile Stroller

Please note this walk is not suitable for push/Wheel chairs or mobility cars. Dogs are welcome on a lead.
