Doncaster Future Parks
'Doncaster Future Parks' is the name given to our approach to improve parks and open spaces within Doncaster, so that more people can enjoy these beautiful spaces, and more often.
There are parks identified across Doncaster as 'Future Parks' sites. In these places, we work particularly closely with local communities to understand what improvements they would like to see made to the sites (such as footpaths, signage and notice boards), and what activities people might like to see taking place there (such as community events). We then start to work on making these changes, often in partnership with the local friends of group for the site (and if there isn't one currently, we support interested members of the community to set one up).
This work is made possible due to funding received specifically for this purpose from Sport England, through the Doncaster Local Delivery Pilot.
The Doncaster Future Parks sites are listed below and further information about progress and updates related to each site can be found by clicking the links (please note this is a work in progress and will be updated soon):
Live Doncaster Future Parks Consultations
Bespoke plans have been put together for Peacock Park (also known as East Lane Park) and Highfields Country Park, which suggest a number of improvements to what these parks might look like (such as footpaths, signage and notice boards), and what activities might take place there (such as community events). Before anything happens, we'd like to talk to you about this to make sure that these improvements are what the local community would like to see. Complete the survey/s below to share your views:
