Parks & open spaces
Parks and open spaces are widely recognised as important assets within Doncaster; providing free, local and accessible opportunities for residents to stay active.
'Doncaster Future Parks' is the name given to our approach to evaluate and improve the provision of parks and open spaces within the borough, with an emphasis on addressing physical activity whilst also benefitting the environment.
The first five parks and open spaces that we are focussing on as part of the Future Parks work are:
- The Crags
- Hexthorpe Park
- Campsall Park
- Town Fields
- Edlington Pit Wood
We're currently working on a programme of engagement with the surrounding communities in these areas to discuss and shape these plans.
'Friends of' Groups
'Friends of' groups work in partnership with Get Doncaster Moving to ensure that Doncaster's green spaces are well-used and maintained.
We're currently refreshing the Green Space Network (which is there to support 'Friends of' groups) and the way in which we work together to improve parks provision and engage with local communities.
This page will be updated with further information soon.
