Street Play

Street play (or 'playing out' sessions) are neighbour-led short road closures, creating a safe space for children to play freely together on their doorstep.

Play streets typically allow children to play freely in a safe space that is lead by their local community. This means children cycle, scoot, skate, chalk, skip, hopscotch, kick a ball around and make up games. They are joyous and active.

Doncaster Council's Public Health team have created a step-by-step guide to help you to organise your own community Street Play session in Doncaster. Download their helpful guide below.

Doncaster Council's website has plenty of helpful resources to support you in arranging your own Street Play session, as well as a number of FAQs to help with any queries you may have.
