Parks & open spaces

"My favourite area is Sandall Park, with the nice little lake, I feel really blessed being around nature."

Vivian

Wherever you are in Doncaster, you're never too far away from a green space – we've over 300 of them! Including:

  • 152 play areas
  • 19 skate parks
  • 15 outdoor gyms
  • 56 Multi Use Games areas
  • 5 Green Flag sites

Our beautiful parks and open spaces offer lots of things to see and do, including:

  • Places to play, including toddler and junior play areas and playing fields
  • Sports facilities, including tennis courts, sports pitches, multi-use games areas and bowling greens
  • Picnic areas and cafes
  • Wide open spaces and beautiful scenery to enjoy walking routes and nature walks

Doncaster also has lots of woodland areas for you to enjoy. You can find out about some of Doncaster's most impressive wooded areas by visiting the Doncaster Council Woodlands webpage.

You can find out more about Doncaster's parks and open spaces, including information about facilities, opening times and locations on the Doncaster Council Parks webpage.

Visit Doncaster has all the latest listings on what's on in our larger parks and open spaces across the borough.

Doncaster Mumbler is a great resource to find out about local parks and playgrounds and their facilities for young children.

Join a 'Friends of' Group

'Friends of' groups work in partnership with Get Doncaster Moving to ensure that Doncaster's green spaces are well-used and maintained.

We're currently refreshing the Green Space Network (which is there to support 'Friends of' groups) and the way in which we work together to improve parks provision and engage with local communities.

If you would like to know more about this or become involved, please contact Ben Russell, Future Parks Manager: Ben.Russell@doncaster.gov.uk
