Tour de Yorkshire

Tour de Yorkshire

Date: Thu, 02 May 2019, 10:00 - 17:00

Venue: Market Square, Doncaster

This will be the third time the prestigious global racing event has come to the borough.

The Tour de Yorkshire first visited Doncaster in April 2016 – it was a huge success with over 50,000 event-goers across the borough turning out to enjoy the breath-taking spectacle of world class cycling and the electric atmosphere.

2018 saw Doncaster host the first stage of the men's race and the ASDA women's Tour de Yorkshire on 3 May. The second stage of the races passed through the borough the following day. To be chosen as an event host for a second year was wonderful news, to be allocated two days of one of the biggest and most prestigious cycling races in the world was a major coup for the borough.

Since its first visit to Doncaster in 2016, the Tour de Yorkshire has passed through 33 of our communities, giving 47.6% of the borough's population opportunity to watch the race. That's nearly 193,000 residents.
