Walking is a great way to explore where you live, discover new places and connect with others.
Walking is known to have numerous benefits and can boost your energy, lift your mood and make everyday activities easier. Whether it's a short stroll to the shops or school, a wander through the woods, or just getting out on your lunch break, you might be surprised by what a positive difference it can make.

Hatfield Woodhouse Walkers - Lisa's Walk
When: Third Tuesday of every month (starting 20th June) at 10am
Starting point: Hatfield Woodhouse Village Hall, Darking Ing Lane, Hatfield Woodhouse, Doncaster DN7 6GB
Details: A 60-90 minute stroll on flat terrain around the Hatfield Woodhouse area. Meet old and new friends. Unfortunately not wheelchair accessible due to paths. Dogs welcome. No toilet facilities.

Hatfield Woodhouse Walkers - Margaret's walk
When: First Friday of every month 10am
Starting point: Hatfield Woodhouse Village Hall, Darking Ing Lane, Hatfield Woodhouse, Doncaster DN7 6GB
Details: A 2 hour walk around the Hatfield Woodhouse area. Meet old and new friends. May be slight inclines and unfortunately not wheelchair accessible due to paths. Dogs welcome. No toilet facilities.

Conisbrough Ramblers Wellbeing Walk
13th May: Cadeby and TPT
Walking to Cadeby via the viaduct, with a short stop at the Cadeby Inn and return through Cadeby Rattles and is a stroller rather than a strider. 3.75 miles, taking approx 2.5 hours not including break
Not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies. Good dogs are welcome.
Meet at Conisbrough Castle Visitors' Centre for a 10:30 am start
10th June: Old Denaby & Hooton Roberts
Walking to Old Denaby and Hooton Roberts and pausing at the Earl of Strafford for refreshments before our return and is a stroller rather than a strider. 7 miles taking approx 3hours not including break

Meet at Old Road field opposite Ivanhoe School for a 10:30 am start
8th July: Sprotbrough and Viaduct
Our popular Sprotbrough walk taking in both sides of the River Don with refreshments at the Boat Inn and is a stroller rather than a strider. 6 miles, taking approximately 2.5 hours not including break

12th August: Old Denaby and Canal
Walking to Old Denaby and along the Canal, stopping at Pastures Lodge for refreshments before returning home along the Trans Pennine Trailand is a stroller rather than a strider. 7 miles taking approx 2.5 hours not including break

9th September: Micklebring
Walking to Micklebring via Park Lane to the Grazing Hind for refreshments before returning to Conisbrough via Beacon Hill and Clifton Villageand is a stroller rather than a strider. Approx 7 miles taking approx 2.5 hours not including break

Hatfield Moors Morning Ramblers Wellbeing Walk (Natural England)
When: Every first and third Wednesday of the month 9.30am-11.30am
Starting point: Carpark of Hatfield Moors Humberhead Peatlands Nature Reserve, Opposite the entrance to Boston Park car park (grid ref SE683 048, what3words = unpacked.wobbling.quibble)
Details: Natural England hold fortnightly morning walks at Hatfield Moors, part of the Humberhead Peatlands National Nature Reserve. It's a flat site over easy ground, anyone is welcome and the guided walk will be suited to the requirements of new walkers. The walks are led by knowledgeable National Nature Reserve Volunteers who will chat amongst the group and share facts about the area as it winds a way down the fantastic array of way-marked routes. Hatfield has a range of habitats to learn about and explore on a walk, so come along enjoy the wildflowers and see if you can spot some birds or deer!

Wellness Walks at Woodfield Park - Wednesdays
When: Every Wednesday 1pm -2pm
Starting point: St Catherine's Walled Gardens, Woodfield Park, Balby, DN4 8QN
Details: Why not make one of our wellness walks a part of your pathway to recovery? We offer supported walks in small groups, or one-to-one for anyone who is living with a long term mental or physical health condition. We walk within the grounds of Woodfield Park - a safe, peaceful area with woodland trails and green space. Improve your mental wellbeing whilst enjoying some gentle exercise and fresh air. Toilets are available in the garden and Café Flourish is also onsite.

Sandall Beat Woods Ramblers Wellbeing Walk
When: Every Thursday 10am-11am
Starting point: Opposite the playground in Sandall Beat Woods, DN2 5QB (terrapin hut next to the Council Offices, what3words = label.buddy.glitz)
Details: A friendly one hour walk and talk, approximately two miles at leisurely pace usually around Sandall Beat Woods or Armthorpe Pit Top. Tea and coffee is available afterwards (a 50p donation is welcomed). Toilet facilities are available.

Finningley Ramblers Wellbeing Walk (Finningley Village Community Group)
When: Fortnightly Thursday 10am (First and Third Thursdays e.g 4th and 18th January 2024)
Starting point: Finningley Village Hall, DN9 3BY
Details: A warm welcome at the start followed by a 2.2 mile walk around the beautiful village of Finningley. Opportunity to join members of the group for a cuppa and cake in the Village Hall after (small charge).

Hexthorpe Park Walk and Social Meet (Club Doncaster Foundation Rovers Connects programme)
When: Every Thursday 10.10am – 11am
Starting point: Hexthorpe Park, meet at the School end of Scarll Road, DN4 0HF
Details: A 40 minute gentle stroll (approx. 1.2 mile) on flat terrain around Hexthorpe Park, rest stops available on route. If you would like, join the group after for a drink at the Dell Café (café prices). Toilet facilities available.

Wheatley Hills Rugby Club Walking Group
When: Every Tuesday at 6pm

Details: All welcome to join a friendly social walking group who like to walk and chat together. The group usually walk 5k and are developing a more advanced group to walk further too.

ECO Power Stadium/Doncaster Lakeside Walk and Social Meet (Club Doncaster Foundation Rovers Connects programme)
When: Every Tuesday 11am-12pm Games and Drinks in the Belle Vue Bar, 12-1pm Lakeside Walk, 1-2pm Bingo and Drinks in Belle Vue Bar.
Starting point: Belle Vue Bar, ECO Power Stadium, DN4 5JW (Car parking available in car park 2 (Opposite the Belle Vue Bar)
Details: A 1 hour gentle stroll (approx. 1.7 mile) on flat terrain around Lakeside. If you would like, join the group beforehand for Games and Drinks or after for Bingo and Drinks (£3 per person). On the 3rd Tuesday of every month a light lunch is provided. Toilet facilities available.

Doncaster Slow Patrol
When: Every Wednesday at 6pm
Starting point: Doncaster Tennis Club, Saxton Avenue, Doncaster, DN4 7AY
Details: Doncaster Slow Patrol offer 2 walking groups one focusing on walking for fitness and the other a more leisurely pace between 4 & 6 km for around 1 hour in the Bessacarr & Cantley area. Most of our walks are on pavements but very occasionally we go off piste. Friendly and welcoming bunch. Ideal for anyone working during the day.

Age UK Doncaster Walk and Talk - Bawtry
When: Every Wednesday 1.00pm-3.00pm
Starting point: Bawtry New Hall, Station Road, Bawtry, DN10 6PU
Details: A 30 minute gentle stroll and talk around Bawtry. If you would like, join the group after for refreshments and bingo at Bawtry New Hall (suggested 50p donation for refreshments). Toilet facilities available.
