The annual Get Doncaster Moving (GDM) Summit will take place on Wednesday 29th January at Castle Park (09:00-15:30).
GDM Summit 2025: Thinking and acting differently
As a member of the Get Doncaster Moving network, you are part of something extraordinary. Our most recently published social network analysis showed the incredible growth in the size of the network and the strength of the collaborations taking place within it over the last few years.
We have always looked upon the challenge of inactivity in Doncaster as requiring all of us to 'think and act differently' – this is to acknowledge that to really turn the tide on the systemic issue of physical inactivity in a place, we need to shake things up, try new things and disrupt the status quo.
We have seen, and shared through Get Doncaster Moving's most recent Impact Report some of the changes which are taking place as a result of this way of working. With a small core team to support the GDM vision, we have not, and cannot, do this alone – it is the whole of the GDM network – and its commitment to creativity and collaboration - that has enabled us to make great strides forward together.
The summit is an opportunity to pause and reflect on our collective journey to date, but crucially, it marks a really important moment in time for all partners in the network. The summit will have a focus on how we ensure that the hard work you have undertaken enables long lasting and sustainable change for the benefit of all Doncaster residents – how we can continue to think and act differently, so that more people in Doncaster have the opportunity to choose and enjoy a physically active life.
